I created this drone with the goal in mind to eventually construct a device that properly flies and carries packages containing important supplies. Throughout the entirety of the design process, however, I always made sure to keep in mind that if I were to take a snapshot of my current progress, that could be the project in of itself. While I wasn't able to fully live up to what I wanted to create in the end, I had that goal to motivate me to get where I did, and I am still satisfied with the work I managed to do.
I have 30 seconds to pitch this idea to you, here is what I would say
Let me show you how everything works
Here is what my year of work in this class has ultimately led to. With a 3-cell, 11.4 volt LiPo battery, it gets a good 20-30 minutes of flight time. Made out of wood, which is both lighter and stronger than plastic, this drone is theoretically more efficient than consumer models. All the parts are highly standardizes in modular drone builds, which means any part can be replaced very easily, and the whole thing is easy to upgrade and modify.
